William A. Muirhead, Of Counsel

W.E. Chip Gaylor, Attorney at Law

Attorney Gaylor received his B.A. from Asbury College in 1986, his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at the American University in 1989, and his LL.M. (Master of Laws in Estate Planning) from the University of Miami Law School in 1990. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Sarasota County Bar Association, and is a member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of both bar associations, and was Past Chair of the local bar section. He is also a member of the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council.

Attorney Gaylor served on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc., was chair from 1995 to 1997, and currently Muirhead, Gaylor & Steves, L.L.P. serves as general counsel to the Foundation. He joined the New College Library Association Board in 1998 and was elected President for two terms in 2000. In 2003 he was elected to the board of the New College Foundation, where he is now Chair of the Development Committee. He served on the board of SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence) from 2002-2006. In 1999 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Council of Foundations headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently in his second year as Board Chair. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Sarasota County Arts Council; American Cancer Society (Venice Chapter); the Laurel Civic Association and Community Aids Network.

Attorney Gaylor has served as an adjunct professor at Manatee Community College. He is a native of Sarasota County and in his spare time enjoys traveling, fishing, scuba diving, and tennis.

David A. Steves, Attorney at Law

David A. Steves was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and the Salmon P. Chase School of Law, which at that time was also in Cincinnati. Chase Law School is now a part of Northern Kentucky University. He limits his practice to Wills, Trusts, and Estates, Estate Taxes and Estate Planning and represents charitable organizations. He is admitted to the Ohio Bar and the Florida Bar and is a member of the Ohio, Florida and American Bar Associations, as well as the Sarasota County Bar Association. He is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association, a member of the Florida Bar Sections for Tax and Estate Planning. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council and the Southwest Florida Planned Giving Council.

Attorney Steves has served as a Board Member and Chair of a United Way agency and the West Coast Symphony Orchestra. His association with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc. began in the early 1980�s and he served as a Board Member of the Community Foundation beginning in 1985. He served as the Chairman of that Board from 1992 through 1994, and was elected to their Emeritus Board. He now serves as their general counsel with his law partner W. E. Gaylor, III. He has served the Washington, D.C. based, Council on Foundations, on their Outreach Committee. He is a frequent speaker regarding estate planning and tax saving strategies.

Elsbeth G. Waskom AKA Beth Waskom, Attorney at Law

Attorney Waskom received her B.A. from the University of Florida in 1988 and her JD from the University of Florida College of Law in 1991. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Sarasota County Bar Association, and is a member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of both bar associations. She is also a member of the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council and the Venice Estate Planning Council.

Attorney Waskom is a member of the Mote Marine Board of Trustees and past President of their Advisory Council. She serves on Designing Women's board as their Estate and Trust Advisor. Additionally, she has been a member of the Junior League of Sarasota, the Ringling Museum UnGala Executive Board Member and the Mote Marine Oceanic Evening. She lectures to groups in the Sarasota County community regarding probate, estate planning and charitable giving. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family.
