Attorney at Law
Attorney Gaylor received his B.A. from Asbury College in 1986, his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at the American University in 1989, and his LL.M ( Master of Laws in Estate Planning) from the University of Miami Law School in 1990. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, and Sarasota County Bar Association (President 2017-2018), and is a memeber of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of both Bar Associations, and was a Past Chair of the local bar section. He is a member of the Venice Estate Planning Council.
Attorney Gaylor Served on the Board of Directors od the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc., was chair from 1995 to 1997, and currently Muirhead, Gaylor, Steves & Waskom, P.A. serves as general counsel to the Foundation. He joined the New College Liberty Association Board in 1998 and was elected President for two terms in 2000. in 2003 he was elected to the Board of the New College Foundation, where he chaired the Development Committee. He served on the Board of SCOPE ( Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence ) from 2002-2006. In 1999 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Council of Foundations headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and served two years as Board Chair. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Sarasota County Arts Council; American Center Society ( Venice Chapter); the Laurel Civic Association and Community Aids Network.
Attorney Gaylor has served as an adjunt professor at Manatee Community College. He is a native of Sarasota County , and his spare time enjoys traveling, fishing, scuba diving, and tennis. He is a member of the Sarasota Yacht Club and serves on its Board of Directors and chairs the Governance Committee.

Attorney Waskom received her B.A from the University of Florida in 1988 and her JD from the University of Florida College of Law in 1991.
She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Sarasota County Bar Association, and is a member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of both bar associations. She id the Past-President of the South County Division of the Sarasota County Bar Association and She is also a member of Venice Estate Planning Council.
Attorney Waskom is a member of the Mote Marine Board of Trustees and past President of their Advisory Council. She serves on Designing Women’s board as their Estate and Trust Adviser. Additionally, she has been member of the Junior League of Sarasota, the Ringling Museum UnGala Executive Board Member and the Mote Marine Oceanic Evening . She continuously lectures to groups in the Sarasota County Community regarding Probate, Estate, and Charitable giving.
In her spare time, She loves to travel with her family. In addition, Attorney Waskom is an avid younger an Original member of Michelob Ultra’s New York Marathon Team and is in the process of completing of all the major marathons around the world. She recently celebrated as years as a volunteer at Mote.
DAVID A. STEVES
Attorney at Law
David A. Steves, was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and the Salmon P. Chase School of Law, which originated in Cincinnati, but since moved and is now part of the Northern Kentucky University. He limits his practice to Wills, Trusts, and Estates Taxes and Estate Planning and represents charitable organizations. He is admitted to the Ohio Bar and the Florida Bar. He is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, as well as a member of the American Bar Association. He is the part of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and i a member of the Florida Bar Section for Tax and Estate Planning. He is a member of the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council and the Southwest Florida Planned Giving Council.
Attorney Steves has served as a Board Member and Chair of a United Way agency and the Sarasota Orchestra, where he currently serves as the Board Chair. His association with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Inc. began in the early 1980’s and he served as a Board Member of the Community Foundation beginning 1985. He served as the Chairman of that Board from 1992 through 1994, and was elected to their Emeritus Board. He now serves as their general counsel with his law partner Chip Gaylor, III. He has served the Washington, D.C. based, Council on Foundations, on their Outreach Committee. He is a frequent speaker regarding estate and tax saving strategies.
